Use of CAIRN by Smart Packets Project
Past Use
Winter 1997-8: Used CAIRN to test Smart Packets
March 9-13, 1998: Demonstrated Smart Packets in CAIRN at
DARPA PI meeting in Tucson Arizona
Current Use (as of July 1998)
Ran long term test of Smart Packets kernel modifications.
Found and fixed a bug which affected multicast joins.
Future Use
Beginning in the Winter of 1998/9, deploy Smart Packets
in CAIRN.
Develop Smart Packets programs to aid in CAIRN network
management.
Beginning in the Spring of 1999, monitor Smart Packets
deployment and use new programs to do network management
in CAIRN.
